1. Choose a colour scheme
Whatever theme you go for it’s important to assess the overall colour scheme, and decide which colours you’ll need to buy to achieve the look you’re after.
When it comes to evoking the dry, rugged landscape of the Wild West, look to warm reds and orange accent hues that will work against a sandy coloured background.
You might want to paint the top half of the walls in a lighter shade – such as sky blue or sunset yellow – and go for an earthy terracotta hue on the bottom half. Paint the lighter colour first, so if there are any drips they’ll be easier to cover up when you paint the lower half of the room.
If you’re not sure how to choose a colour, try experimenting with different shades using the Dulux Visualizer app.
