Bringing new colors to SOS Children’s Villages in Nigeria

As a part of the Global Let’s Colour initiative, AkzoNobel and distributor CAP Plc. have partnered with SOS Children’s Villages Nigeria to provide community education and bring new colors to the lives of 25 young people in order to boost their employment prospects.

Training & renovation

In 2017 the partnership consisted of a comprehensive painter training program delivered by the Dulux Painters Academy and also the renovation and renewal of a building within the SOS Children’s Village in Ejigbo, giving it a total makeover.

Creating colorful experiences

At the event held in the SOS Children’s Villages Social Centre in Ejigbo, Mrs. Omolara Elemide (Managing Director of CAP Plc) pointed out that the decision to provide community education and new look to the Social Centre was the result of the company’s commitment to creating colorful experiences for unprivileged communities by adding color and giving learning programs, with the aim to make life better for the young people.

Gratifying & rewarding

Mrs. Omolara Elemide also added: “We trained 25 youths of SOS Children’s Villages to be independent, using the Dulux Painters Academy platform. The next part of the workshops will be working with the trained youths to rejuvenate more spaces within SOS Children’s Village with color”.

The National Director of SOS Children’s Villages, Mr. Eghosa Erhumwunse, said that the partnership has been gratifying and rewarding for all concerned.
